NTS hosts Functional Orthopaedics Course - Thursday, January 24, 2008
We were fortunate to host a Functional Orthopaedics Course for Physical Therapists through the Institute of Physical Art. According to the IPA, Functional Orthopaedics is an integrated approach to patient care with emphasis on soft tissue mobilization with PNF, joint mobilization, and exercise training. This course presents a systematic and integrated approach for treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain, with emphasis on soft tissue mobilization. The cutting edge aspect of FOI is the integration of STM with PNF, joint mobilization, body mechanics training, and rehabilitative exercise programs. As course director, Cheryl Wardlaw was informative and entertaining. Our team was honored to host this course and look forward to hosting FO2 in June. The event was a great success due to the direction and leadership of Michelle Nesin and Brandi Lindsey.
2007 HELPline Turkey Trot - Thursday, November 22, 2007 Thanksgiving Day UAH Campus
Mr. Turkey, TJ, Janine Nesin and Bill Farris
Our team is excited to be a Tiny Turkey Trot Sponsor for the 14th Annual Turkey Trot scheduled for Thanksgiving morning on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The race benefits HELPline, North Alabama’s crisis line and information referral service. This year the race will also benefit the new 2-1-1 call center, Huntsville’s local connection to the new national community information line. Five hundred runners are expected and the HELPline Turkey will be there again too.
He may not be the biggest turkey in the world (he probably is the biggest in Alabama) but the HELPline Turkey is indisputably the slowest living turkey in the world. He makes an appearance every year at the HELPline Turkey Trot. He’s finished dead last for the last 13 years in a row and he never even finishes the 5k run. His best race is the Tiny Tot Turkey Trot for children under 5. He always loses it too but at least he crosses the finish line. He’s also scheduled a tune up race at the Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children’s Child life Center on Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
