About

Michelle Nesin is co-owner and Education Director of Nesin Therapy Services in Huntsville, Alabama, and a co-founder of the Pelvic Education Alliance. Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama in 1989.   Michelle has over 30 years of experience in the treatment of orthopedic and pelvic health populations. Her passion for teaching has influenced Physical Therapists around the world.  

Michelle participated in a 6-month post professional fellowship in PNF at Kaiser Vallejo, CA, in 1992.  She became certified in Functional Manual Therapy ™ in 2001 and completed her one-year IPA Manual Therapy Fellowship studies with Gregg Johnson, PT, FFCFMT, in 2001.  She became a (ABPTS) Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedics in 2006 and completed her second AAOMPT Orthopedic Manual Therapy Fellowship in 2009.  Michelle is a member of the Women’s Health and Orthopedic Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association, a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists.

Michelle taught for the Institute of Physical Art from 1993-2018 and was a primary instructor in PNF, FM1, Functional Gait and Visceral Functional Manipulation.  Michelle has lectured professionally at The American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting, The American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists, The Alabama Physical Therapy Association, The Montana Physical Therapy Association, The Arizona Physical Therapy Association, The Southern California Pelvic Floor and Sexual Medicine Conference, The University of South Alabama, The University of Alabama Birmingham, Wallace State College and North Georgia College. In 2017, she received her highest honor of being invited to work with the Chinese Olympic Committee Medical Team.  Since then, Michelle has returned to China two additional times to supervise and work with Physical Therapy residents in local hospitals, as well as teaching courses to Physical Therapists from around the country.  Michelle has also been featured in numerous local and statewide publications, as well as appearing on local television to speak on topics related to Physical Therapy.
