About
Dr. Janine Nesin is co-owner of Nesin Therapy Services. Janine initially began working as an office assistant at Nesin when her mom began the practice in 1987, and Janine fell in love with the Physical Therapy profession. Janine earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Auburn University in 1992 and was awarded her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 1996, as part of the nation’s first entry-level doctorate program in physical therapy. Janine serves as an expert consultant in the field of orthopedics, private practice and pelvic health, and has lectured and taught courses around the world.
Janine became an ABPTS Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedics in 2005. She is a member of Women’s Health, Private Practice, and Orthopedic Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association and a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society.
Janine has served both as President of the Alabama Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association, as well as Vice-President/Education Chair. Janine has been teaching continuing education for physical therapists since 2014. Janine has lectured professionally for the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists, Alabama Physical Therapy Association, Arizona Physical Therapy Association, and the University of Alabama Birmingham. In 2017, Janine was invited to teach a continuing education course to the Chinese Olympic Committee’s Medical Team and work with their Olympic athletes. Since then, Janine has returned to China to supervise and work with Physical Therapy residents in local hospitals, as well as teaching courses to PTs from around the country.
Janine’s expertise in business development has led Nesin Therapy Services to local, state and national recognitions. She has mentored multiple physical therapists in private practice development and management. Janine has also been featured in numerous local, state and national publications, as well as appearing on local television to speak on topics related to Physical Therapy. In 2020, Janine was appointed by the Lt. Governor to serve on Alabama’s Small Business Commission, and most recently served on the Emergency Small Business Task Force to address small business concerns during the COVID-19 crisis.
Janine is co-founder of the Pelvic Education Alliance, with her sister Michelle Nesin, PT, OCS, FCFMT, FAAOMPT, and her former classmate Dr. Julie Sarton, PT, DPT, WCS.
