Back Education

Image

For nearly every problem there is an element of postural education that is essential. How we sit, sleep, stand, lift, drive and do household or work activities can influence our bodies ability to recover or place it at risk for further injury. Being mindful and educated about spinal alignment and proper body mechanics is a key aspect of physical therapy. Proper body mechanics is defined as the efficient use of one's body to produce motion that is safe, energy conserving, anatomically and physiologically efficient, and leads to the maintenance of a person’s balance and control of movement. We want you to take what you learn into any situation and know how to prevent injury.

The spine serves a number of functions including absorbing shock, maintaining balance and promoting movement all while protecting the spinal cord, so it is integral to come in for treatment instead of suffering with your pain.
