Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization uses very similar principles and techniques as hands on soft tissue mobilization except some form of device or tool is used. The ergonomically designed instruments help the therapist detect and treat fascial restrictions, soft tissue fibrosis, scar tissue adhesions, chronic inflammation, and other soft tissue related problems. Altering direction and pressure allows the therapist to isolate and treat specific restrictions at various tissue depths. The microtrama that occurs during treatment initiates a series of healing activities in the tissues resulting in remodeling and improved function in the area. This technique is widely used to treat tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, neck pain, back pain and nearly everything in between.

The spine serves a number of functions including absorbing shock, maintaining balance and promoting movement all while protecting the spinal cord, so it is integral to come in for treatment instead of suffering with your pain.
