In this story, one of our patients shares how physical therapy helped her embark on an extended trip she once thought might not be possible, all while decked out in her Nesin shirts she’s collected over the years.
“I started my sagas out with the intent of being silly. As these last three weeks have progressed, I become retrospective on the impact that PT has had on my life. Everything I’ve written is true. PT has kept me going, has saved me.
Nesin isn’t perfect, but nothing is. The changes over recent years have diminished some of what was so special about Nesin; but, I do understand that the changes were necessary to survive in today’s reimbursement environment.
Over the years, I’ve tried a few different clinics, but I’ve always come back to Nesin. Not too long ago, I switched to a different PT clinic and I told you why. With much trepidation, I stopped going mid-therapy. The therapist refused to listen to me. It’s taken 20+ years, but I’ve learned to listen to my body. To understand and accept (reluctantly) its limitations. Because of my collagen disorder, my body isn’t like a normal body and, over time, I’ve found that most people don’t understand. They don’t understand the disorder, don’t understand the severity of the issues I have. They think I’m exaggerating, that I’m lazy or obstinate. And the worst, that they know my body better than I know my body.
I’ve always come back to Nesin because I know the therapists WILL listen to me. They will allow me to direct my care. They trust me and I trust them. That says a lot about the clinic. That says it ALL about the clinic.
Thank you and the Nesin family for keeping me going. For helping me understand and accept my limitations. My life is better because of Nesin physical therapy. Just like my t-shirts remind me: I “live life better” because of Nesin therapy.”
